I’m (halfway through) reading a book by Robin Sharma, called The Wealth Money Can’t Buy and felt the need to share.
Get ready. I’m on one today. 🙈
It outlines 8 forms of wealth (spoiler alert: only one of them is money).
The 2nd form of wealth that he mentions (I’m sure you can guess) is WELLNESS (and steadily optimizing your health habits). This comes as absolutely no surprise to me. I’m actually surprised that it wasn’t 1st. 🤷🏽♀️
I heard someone say before that your health is the table that everything else in your life sits on. If the legs get wobbly or break (i.e. your health), then everything falls off the table. And that everything is the rest of your life! Well, no truer words were spoken. 😩
This is something I learned firsthand during the years I struggled with chronic back pain. What a time! 🫠 Waking up every day in pain; unable to sleep because you can’t get comfortable; dragging yourself through the day; you quickly realize that you will do almost anything to feel better.
And unfortunately, traumatic health outcomes and concerning diagnosis can often come without warning.
So this is my call to action for you to consider how you are managing your health. More importantly…

ARE YOU MANAGING YOUR HEALTH?
Those extra pounds. Have you given up trying to lose them? Have you convinced yourself that it’s just a part of aging? That your metabolism has slowed, or that you have ‘big bones’?
The sugar cravings. Have you decided that you just have a sweet tooth? Have you asked yourself why?
The brain fog. The (peri)menopause symptoms. The mid-life acne. The forgetfulness. The joint pain. The list goes on and on and on…
There is a reason why you have them.
What if I told you that you can have vitality and strength as you age? Does it take some work? Yes, for sure. But the rewards without a doubt, outweigh the pain.
I encourage you to read this book (I’m sure there is probably an audiobook as well). The chapters are super short so you can feel like you accomplished something even if you only have 5 minutes. 🙌🏽
Some of my favorite chapters in this section were:
Know Your Genes Are Not your Destiny
See Food as Medicine
Microdose Meditation
Do A 30-Day Zero-Sugar Challenge
Become A Professional Sleeper
Breathe Like a Samurai
Show Up in The Gym the Way You Wish to Show Up in Life
If you need help, let me know. I know stuff. 😎 And I would love to help you.
Guidance, encouragement and accountability make life easier, especially in a world full of noise. Our bio-individuality can make it difficult to find solutions, but that doesn’t mean that there are none.
I’ll leave you with this (from the book):
We are twice as likely to avoid doing something that could enrich our lives massively (due to the fear of losing what we have) than to experience the pleasure of gaining the rewards that the new behavior will bring…
